Most of us grew up being read nursery rhymes. Most of them just seemed to be entertaining with a simple lesson to be learned. In reality most of those nursery rhymes hold secret meaning.

What started out as dissident folk songs about current events of the time or the abhorant conduct of figureheads, actually hold messages within the lines. They tell of everything from cruelty and execution to greed and immorality…and more.

So, why am I telling you this?

Because often times the appearance of innocence masquerades as a smoke screen for more sinister happenings. It’s a warning to us, especially as trauma survivors or those who struggle with life. We need to be true to ourselves and trust our guts for appropriate healing.
